We're looking for problem-solvers and team players with a real passion for optical engineering who are open to new challenges on a day-to-day basis.

In this role you'll be expected to contribute your own ideas and take ownership of assigned projects, tasks, and investigations, with a focus on improving our build procedures, build quality and products we supply to our customers globally.

The successful candidate will collaborate with our dynamic, innovative team in a fast-paced start-up environment in Edinburgh.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Practical experience and understanding of laser alignment

  • Excellent analytical skills with an eye for detail and accuracy

  • Ability to interpret detailed technical information and convey to colleagues and stakeholders

  • Ability to multitask and assess, analyse, and find solutions to problems

  • Work well within a team and interfacing with customers

  • Degree in STEM subject

  • Eligibility to work full-time in the UK

Desirable:

  • PhD or MSc in relevant field in Physics or Engineering

  • Experience with designing and modelling of complex optical systems

  • Experience in 3D design software packages: Solidworks, SolidEdge etc.

  • Software experience in Python, C++, OpticStudio, COMSOL
